Imagine is a podcast by Coding Rights that hosts a series of conversations with inspiring women and gender non-conforming people from around the world to speculate on alternative futures. We connect research and visionary ideas to share knowledge and inspiration, hoping to spark new perspectives on the present’s challenges. With such exchanges, we want to build the tools to weave collective paths of hope toward better futures.
In this episode, we talk about the ideologies driving some of Silicon Valley’s most powerful CEOs and tech billionaires. For this conversation, we invited Annette Zimmermann, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison working on the ethics and politics of artificial intelligence; and Timnit Gebru, a global reference for challenging Google’s unethical practices on AI and founder of DAIR – Distributed AI Research Institute. Have you ever wondered what is behind Musk’s and other tech moguls’ interferences in political areas? Do you know what is effective accelerationism? Longtermism? When did this start and where could it lead?
We understand that difficult times require in-depth analyses that encompass multiple layers of complexity, as well as exercises of radical imagination to help us envision other possibilities for existing on this planet. Are you ready to imagine?
