Laila Almeida Braga is a geographer and communications specialist focused on technology, culture, free software, digital rights, digital care, and data sovereignty research.

She holds Bachelor’s and Teaching degrees in Geography from the University of São Paulo (USP), where she researched data sovereignty in academic production through a case study of the USP-Google partnership. She is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Digital Communication and Marketing at ESPM.

A communications professional since 2014, Laila has served as Communications Coordinator for civil society organizations like MariaLab and facilitated workshops for projects such as EncruziLab (Geledés- Instituto da Mulher Negra) and Gincana Monstra (Transfeminist Network for Digital Care), where she addressed social media strategies with a critical perspective on digital platforms for social movements and activists.

She contributes to communications for CryptoRave (2024-2025), the Transfeminist Network for Digital Care, and Brazil’s Free Software Movement. At Coding Rights, she serves as Communications Coordinator, developing strategies through collective, transfeminist, decolonial, and antiracist frameworks for human rights defense.
