Clarote is a Brazilian designer and illustrator based in Berlin. With an aptitude for participatory and collaborative projects, she aims for politically engaged design practices.
Clarote has contributed to projects such as the Oracle for Transfeminist Technolgies, MAMI and the Internet Cartographies. As a freelancer, she has also collaborated with organisations such as Superrr Lab, Simply Secure, Ashoka Germany, Heinrich Böll Stiftung, Kampnagel and AJL.
Clarote holds a BA in Design, Esdi-UERJ (School of Design in the State University of Rio de Janeiro), where she has also been a researcher at the Design and Anthropology Lab. As a researcher, she investigates design processes as platforms for debate on emerging social and political issues, particularly those regarding gender and its intersectionalities.
